Although sometimes scary, the image, expression and representation of art is often healing. We provide sessions
in a safe, non-threatening environment to nuture that process and foster healthy expression, promote integration
of emotional, cognitive, and social functioning.
Like verbal expression, art making is also a form of language and self-talk that evokes insight into beliefs and
behaviors that can empower individuals to work through their personal challenges and apply developed skills to
their daily lives. Elizabeth has and continues to work with children, adolescents and adults of all ethnic,
cultural, emotional and behavioral backgrounds.

Art therapy is an effective treatment that fosters self-awareness and supports creative expression with
thoughtful therapeutic intervention.
- Process and reconcile emotional conflict through verbal and art expression.
- Provides a normalizing activity in the lives of children, adolescents and adults.
- Helps define strengths and limitations.
- Offers an outlet and tools to cope with experiences in daily living.
Being an active participant in the creative process can facillitate healing and growth. While image making and
discussion are equally important in the work, the emphasis is not on skill, but on personal development,
expressing from one's inner images, gaining a sense of well being and a greater sense of self.
Through art-making we learn to define and resolve hidden personal conflicts, relationship issues, personal loss,
and trauma. Art can be used as an effective strategy for challenges related to medical, mental and emotional
problems as well as developmental disorders.
Creative art therapies can be more free-form and less structured than some talk therapies, but it is necessary to
have a treatment plan and to set goals with clients and/or family and care providers.
We work as primary therapists or as part of treatment teams in such settings as:
- Private Medical Offices
